iPod!

Yesterday, as I was sitting in the bus on the way to Krefeld, I made the impulsive decision to buy an iPod. Actually the decision wasn’t all that impulsive. I had been using my cell phone to listen to music on the go, but lately it’s become really annoying: one set of ear buds broke, the contacts for the head phone cable were acting up…. I’d been checking out numerous mp3 players and then decided this:

my new 80GB Ipod Classic

Directly after getting home, I installed iTunes, imported my music and loaded up my new toy with 11,335 songs, some podcasts and videos. I was amazed at the speed with which iTunes synced with the iPod. It copied almost 70GB in under half-an-hour! The sound quality is also great!

I’m really loving my new toy! Go buy iPods, everyone!!!

Mass Effect - DONE!

Just finished the single-player campaign of Mass Effect. At first I hated the RPG aspect and the over-complicated controls and weapons upgrade system. But, once I had a couple hours of game-play under my belt, I really started enjoying it. Graphics are great and the size of some of the landscapes is unbelievable. An impressively beautiful RPG-shooter space-epic!

Race Driver GRID

Take the physics engine from DiRT, combined with racing-simulation-worthy graphics, add the super-sweet Flashback feature, a highly interesting story line and what comes out: Race Driver GRID, the latest game from Codemasters.

Let’s start with the graphics: My system (3,6 Core2Duo, 4GB RAM, GeForce 880GT) has no problem running the game with all settings maxed. I think I’ll let some screenshots do the talking:

Sometimes I forget to race cuz I’m enjoying the scenery….

Until the sound of squealing tires and screeching metal jolts me awake… SHIT! crashed. At which point, all you have to do is hit RETURN, the Flashback feature is activated and you can “scroll back and forth in time” to undo your mistake.

Gameplay and the story line are also highly enjoyable. While building up your own team, you can drive for other teams, which lets you drive sweet cars from the beginning on, instead of having to “earn the horsepower” like in other racing games. The variety of tracks and events is also impressive, from drift battles to demo derbys, to american muscle….

A sweet arcade/simulation cross that gets a 8/10 rating from me.

  • My New Blog Design

    Well folks, here it is:

    My new blog design.

ENJOY! the new black, gray, pink, flowery, sort-of-emo blog design ….

I registered for Facebook and Twitter about a year ago, but because none of my friends were using them yet, I gave both up and my accounts have been lying idle since then.

Last Sunday I decided to resurrect both! I’ve been contacting a lot of old friends in America and England over Facebook, so that’s really cool. And thanks to surfing flat rates for cell phones and text messaging rates getting cheaper here in Germany, Twitter also makes sense….

    So, me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/c010depunkk

    and Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=585103186

Enjoy! Add me! Let’s hang out online ;)
