I’ve been using Miranda (an instant messaging client for multiple protocols) for over a year now. There are hundreds of plugins and, after trying out very, very lots of them, I’ve finally created The Ultimate Miranda Plugin List. Installing plugins is easy: Download the .zip file, extract it, copy the .dll files to the “Plugins” directory of Miranda (usually “C:\Program Files\MirandaIM\Plugins”), restart Miranda and there they are. You can enable/disable plugins under Options -> Plugins. My Ultimate List contains the following plugins:

AuthState.dll - allows you to see if you have been authorized in a contact’s list. Puts a red or green icon in one of the Advanced slots of your contact list.

clist_modern.dll - an advanced contact list with improved looks. Skinnable, with LOTS of options.

CopyIp.dll - allows you to read out the internal / external IP’s of contacts (if their client/protocol supports it). Adds an item to the contact right-click menu.

fingerprint.dll - reads out the client/protocol/version of your contacts and adds an icon in your contact list.

Forward.dll - allows you to forward messages from one contact to another. Not very useful, but can be quite humerous

gamer.dll - monitors running processes and when it detects a game, changes your custom status.

historypp.dll - an advanced history viewer. Search, filters, grouping of messages by conversation.

linklist.dll - generates a list of URIs. Useful when you want to recover a link or email address from a contact’s history.

NewAwaySys.dll - allows you to manage status messages: edit default messages, create new custom status messages, status message history.

showuin.dll - adds an item to the contact right-click menu with the ICQ # so you can quickly copy it.

Skype.dll - add support for the Skype network. Skype has to installed on the system and is started in the background.

sms_library.dll - allows you to send an SMS by running through a list of free internet SMS gateways.

StatusGlobalHotkeys.dll - change your status using global hotkeys. Fully configurable.

StatusStatistics.dll - logs and displays an analysis of contacts’ statuses.

tabsrmm.dll - “Chat module for instant messaging and group chat, offering a tabbed interface and many advanced features.” THE BEST MESSAGING WINDOW!!! Fully configurable, TONS of options, skinnable….

xStatusTextChanger.dll - writes Winamp info into your custom status message.

So, there you have it - The Ultimate Miranda Plugin List!
